A CV score, also called a resume score or CV rating, is CVScore’s 0–100 assessment of your document across eight categories. It helps you find areas to review; it is not an employer’s ATS score, a measure of your qualifications or an interview probability.

CV Score evaluates your resume across 8 professional categories: Contact Information & Header, Professional Summary, Work Experience, Education & Qualifications, Skills & Competencies, Layout & Visual Design, Language & Communication, and Strategic Positioning & ATS Readiness. Each category contains 5-8 subcriteria, totaling 48 individual checkpoints.

The initial assessment is free, with no credit card required. The Fix Report unlocks numeric scores, detailed findings and suggested rewrites for $4.99 one-time, including a second report unlock for a revised CV. Five unlocks cost $12.99; Lifetime Access costs $29.99. These are one-time purchases.

CVScore extracts the text of your PDF and reviews the document with AI. This can highlight structure, wording and formatting concerns. It does not run your CV through Workday, SAP or another employer’s ATS, and it does not compare your CV with a job description.

Currently, CV Score supports PDF files up to 5MB. PDF is the most widely accepted format by recruiters and ATS systems, ensuring your formatting is preserved across all devices.

We do not sell your CV. We use the service providers listed on our Subprocessors page for analysis and storage.

The AI generates the overall score; if that value is missing, we use the mean of the available category scores. This is our document-review heuristic, not an employer ATS score or an interview probability. Interpret findings in the context of your experience and target role.

Yes. You can submit a revised CV for another assessment. Viewing its numeric scores and detailed findings uses a report unlock. The Fix Report includes two unlocks so you can review the original and a revised version.
